Retirees club gets name change, plans events for 2012 The Joint Board retirees club, which has been known since its founding in 1984 as the Amalgamated Retirees Organization, has changed its name to better reflect both its current status and the Board’s. The new, official name is the Workers United Retirement Organization, which will more casually be referred to simply as (WRO). The club meets the second Tuesday of the month at the Union Hall in Rochester for its regular meetings, many of which feature speakers or special programs. In addition, a number of special events and trips are planned annually. The 2012 dates currently set include: * January 10 * February 14 * March 13 * April 10 * May 8 * June 12 * July 10 * August 14 * September 11 * October 9 * November 13 * December 11 All meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 10:00 AM in the Union Hall. Speakers and events to be announced. |
